Coaching stipends are split into three installments (1/3 each month) and paid on the 25th of the month.

ABOUT THE POSITION
Springfield Public Schools seeks outstanding candidates for the position of Head Girl's Varsity Soccer Coach at Thurston High School for the 2025-2026 School Year. This person is responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the OSAA, adherence to all department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of Thurston High School, Springfield School District and the OSAA. Thurston High School is committed to creating a more inclusive and diverse student and staff population, so we seek candidates with demonstrated potential to contribute positively to our diverse community. The Head Coach is expected to conduct him/herself in a loyal, honest, responsible, ethical and professional manner at all times.
Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Coaching experience;
- Soccer knowledge and playing experience;
- Ability to work with high school students;
- Effective communication skills;
- Ability to work within school district guidelines and budget;
- ASEP and First Aid Certified;
- Availability for daily practices and matches;
- Ability to be District Van Certified;
- Ability and commitment to practice cultural competency and demonstrate respect for diversity.
QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED:
- 3-5 years of coaching experience at the high school level or beyond;
- Experience working with high school age students;
- Fundraising knowledge and/or capabilities;
- Understanding of OSAA rules and regulations;
- Good organizational skills;
- Ability to work with individuals and large groups;
- Ability to work with parents and booster clubs.
