Salary and Benefits

 

The salary range is $43,998 - $95,320 (salary will be prorated based on start date in the position) depending on education/experience plus a generous benefit plan.

About the Position

 

Springfield Public Schools seeks outstanding candidates for the position of Temporary Certified Building Support (Floating Substitute) teachers at all levels (Elementary, Middle and High School).  Individuals in these positions will provide daily classroom support to the assigned location at the direction of the building administrator(s).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge and experience with school-aged students;
  • Strong understanding of multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) for academics and social/emotional/behavior:
    • Knowledge and experience working in a school or district that implements the concepts of Response to Intervention (RtI);
    • Knowledge of school-wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS);
  • Demonstrated understanding of, and responsiveness to, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds that characterize a K-12 school community in a manner specific to the position;
  • Strong student relationship building skills and the ability to establish a sound system of classroom routines and management;
  • Establishes effective, collaborative working relationships with diverse staff, student and community populations.
  • Ability to effectively manage and supervise students and their work.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A valid state of Oregon teaching license, or the ability to get one;
  • Successfully pass fingerprinting, criminal, Oregon Department of Education, and TSPC background checks.
